When a nuclear, biological, or chemical hazard occurs, immediate steps need to be taken. The Principal will announce the Shelter-in-Place directive, and activate the Emergency Operations Team. The nature and nearness of the incident will probably be the deciding factor whether to shelter-in-place or evacuate. This scenario will explain what actions need to be taken and identify personnel responsibilities. The objective is to help school personnel understand safety procedures as they relate to NBC hazards.
